Cost Accountant

Steel Forgings Inc. (SFI) is a leading manufacturer of custom butt weld fittings that has been servicing the oil and gas industry for over 70 years.

SFI is seeking a hands-on experienced cost accountant to manage the cost related activities and manage select day-to-day accounting and administrative functions of the company.

Responsibilities Collect and analyze data regarding Company’s operational costs.

Establish standard costs of manufactured goods for customer pricing.

Collect and analyze job cost data and maintain company pricing matrices.

Analyze cost standards and recommend methods for allocating costs to products.

Monthly reconciliation of material receipts to general ledger inventory activity.

Monthly inventory analysis and valuation.

Preparation and presentation of financial reports for ownership and BOD.

Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, parish and state taxes.

Responsible for monthly local, parish and state sales tax compliance and filings.

Responsible for accurate and timely filing of property tax valuations.

Backup for critical H / R, A / P and A / R functions including processing payroll.

Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. 7-10 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to analyze financial results and explain variances in a clear and concise manner.

Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

Advanced MS Suite and Excel skills (charts, pivots tables, and advanced formulas).

Data visualization software knowledge and experience.

Strong time management, organizational and analytical skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Deadline oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Must be extremely detail oriented.
