American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent L&D experience and current ACLS, BLS, and STABLE certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital on a combined Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby unitUnit includes 9 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 2 triage beds, and 4 postpartum bedsHandles a high-volume LDRP and obstetrical emergency patient population, averaging 850-900 births per yearAssignment is 13 weeks with night shifts from 1845 to 0715 and every other weekend requiredUses Meditech for documentation and GE Centricity for electronic fetal monitoringRN responsible for telemetry monitoring in OBClosed unit with floating only in emergency situationsPurple scrubs provided for this unitCare for patients experiencing labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and emergent obstetric conditionsOB Techs support unit operations; both Charge Nurse and House Supervisor presentNo 24 / 7 in-house OB / Neonatologist; rapid response protocols in placeUnit orientation provided for all incoming employeesHoliday work required based on department contractRNs are expected to pass unit-specific testing on sterile technique; failure may affect eligibility for future assignmentsCandidates cannot have been employed directly by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the previous year\n \n Requirements\n
Active OR RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not acceptedMinimum of 2 years of current L&D nursing experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, and STABLE (all must be current and in hand)Experience required in circulating and / or scrubbing for cesarean sectionsAbility to titrate drips such as Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and LabatelolProfessional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 yearsCopy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n
