Job description

To ensure the delivery of competent, high quality clinical care in a caring compassionate environment.

  • Answers routine questions.
  • Takes accurate messages.
  • Operation of telephone.
  • Handles routine questions on department operations.
  • Receives complaints and aware of how to initiate protocol.
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills.
  • Orientation to hospital campus and ability to provide accurate directions.
  • Demonstrates written and oral communication skills.
  • Attentive to details.
  • Plans, organizes, gathers and assembles data.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of common formats for correspondence and reports.
  • Use of department specific equipment.
  • Accurately opens, sorts, and routes mail.
  • Monitors inventory and orders supplies.
  • Completes Inpatient orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manages inventory well.
  • Sustains adequate inventory of controlled and non-controlled drugs.
  • Documents drug transactions accurately.
  • Demonstrates accountability and responsibility with Pharmacy equipment and software.
  • Oversees third party reimbursement and coverage for Outpatient prescriptions consistent with insurances, regulatory agencies and hospital policy.

  • Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, and local requirements, and TJC standards and / or standards from other accrediting bodies.
  • Required Skills

  • Minimum Education : High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum Work Experience : Problem solving, customer service and reception duties, preferable in a clinical setting.
  • Required Licenses : Kentucky, United States Pharmacy Technician; Kentucky, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB).
  • Qualifications : Minimum Education : High School Graduate or equivalent.
