Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Technologist for a travel assignment in a leading hospital facility. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or open-heart surgery procedures , demonstrating proficiency in assisting surgeons and maintaining a sterile environment throughout complex cardiac cases.

This position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-acuity surgical environment.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in cardiovascular or open-heart surgery procedures, demonstrating proficiency in assisting surgeons and maintaining a sterile environment throughout complex cardiac cases.\n\nThis position requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication, and the ability to perform effectively in a high-acuity surgical environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\nPrepare the cardiovascular operating room and ensure all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and functioning properly.\n\nAssist the surgical team during open-heart, vascular, and thoracic procedures.\n\nAnticipate surgeon and team needs during procedures, ensuring efficiency and patient safety.\n\nHandle surgical specimens, maintain accurate counts of sponges, instruments, and sharps.\n\nMaintain strict aseptic and sterile technique in all surgical settings.\n\nCollaborate with circulating nurses and anesthesia providers to support optimal surgical outcomes.\n\nParticipate in room turnover and equipment restocking between procedures.\n\nEnsure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\nQualifications : \n\nCertification : CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) or CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) – Required\n\nCertifications : BLS and ACLS – Required\n\nExperience : Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR / ECMO or open-heart surgery experience – Required\n\nStrong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile field management, and cardiovascular anatomy.\n\nAbility to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.\n\nExcellent attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills.
