SUMMARY
The Cost Analyst plays a critical part in enabling cost transparency, operational efficiency, and financial discipline to support BSM’s strategic growth in the Oat Milling Business Unit, with operations in Belgrade, Montana (U.S.) and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (Canada). This role is integral in ensuring accurate costing, robust inventory controls, and actionable financial analysis in a commodity-driven manufacturing environment.
The Cost Analyst will be responsible for item cost setup and maintenance, bills of material (BOMs), work order compliance, and accurate recording of inventory transactions. The position also provides insights into production performance, yields, and variances while partnering closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Logistics.
This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role requiring strong cost accounting skills, ERP proficiency (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred), and the ability to thrive in a matrix reporting environment. The role has direct impact on operational performance, decision-making, and financial accuracy.
