Refinery Manager
Leads the day-to-day business activities of the Petro Star North Pole Refinery, prioritizing safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable refinery operations with a focus on optimizing production of on-specification fuels. Directs the Maintenance and Operations staffs to complete timely and professional preventative and corrective maintenance of all refinery equipment and assets. Directs Laboratory and operations personnel to ensure product quality and assurance requirements are always met. Develops and stewards the refinery operating and capital budgets.

Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervise all employees within the department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, disciplining, coaching and training, addressing and resolving employee concerns, planning, assigning, directing work and assessing job performance.

Education and / or Experience :
Language Skills :
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
Mathematical Skills :
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability :
Ability to apply commonsense reasoning to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with and resolve problems involving multiple variables in both standardized and non-standardized situations.
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, or balance. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment :
Must have physical ability to perform all essential job duties and work extended hours, including nights and weekends in process operations environment. Work will be conducted during periods of inclement weather. Must have physical ability to access all areas of the refinery including stairs and / or ladders to inspect critical process and mechanical equipment. Must reside in the North Pole area and be available to respond to upset conditions during off-hours (in person if necessary).
