Credit Strategy Data Scientist Remote Contract opportunity with our San Jose, CA client

We are seeking a talented and data-driven Credit Strategy Data Scientist to join our clients Credit Risk Strategy team. This role focuses on credit risk assessment, data analysis, and the development of predictive strategies to mitigate losses and optimize customer eligibility. Ideal candidates will bring strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and hands-on experience working with large datasets in the fintech or online payments space.

Responsibilities :

• Design rules and strategies to detect and mitigate credit losses
• Investigate high-impact or complex credit risk cases and identify root causes
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve control capabilities
• Develop, refine, and present credit strategies for execution
• Balance customer experience and business risk to maximize eligible customers while minimizing losses
• Create dashboards and visualizations to track KPIs and strategy performance
• Analyze data using internal platforms (e.g., RaaS) to identify loss patterns and propose optimizations
• Communicate findings and strategic recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
