American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience, telemetry and stepdown skills, and eligibility to float each shift.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position located in a hospital telemetry unitCare for cardiac patients, including those with congestive heart failure and arrhythmiasPatient ratios are 1 : 6-7Night shifts are 12 hours, 18 : 45 to 07 : 15, with scheduling by self or unit needsRequires working 5-6 weekend shifts, typically every other weekendFloating to other units is required and may occur every shiftAssignment length ranges from 13 to 26 weeks with 36 hours per week onlyUtilizes Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication managementMonitor and care for cardiac patients, including administration and monitoring of cardiac drips and post-cardiac cath managementPerform central line care, sheath pulls, TR Bands, Femstop, and manage cardiac emergenciesAssignment to Storm Team or Hurricane Team may be required during emergencies or disastersConsolidation to a centralized office with reassignment to other units may occur mid-contractNavy scrubs requiredUnit orientation is 24 hoursRTO after booking is not permitted; call-offs may result in contract cancellationUp to 7 days of RTO allowed if pre-approvedLocal candidates are accepted\n \n Requirements\n
Active NC or Compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years RN experienceCurrent ACLS certification requiredTelemetry and stepdown (PCU / DOU / IMC) experience requiredAbility to interpret dysrhythmias and operate remote monitoring equipmentExperience with pre / post cardiac cath, pre / post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, blood product administration, port access, central and PICC line management, and titration of cardiac drips (e.g., Diltiazem, Amiodarone)Must pass EKG testing prior to startCharge experience and NIHSS certification preferredFirst-time travelers are welcome\n Benefits\n
