Job Summary : Mercury Systems IPS Data Processing business unit is developing sophisticated mission-critical technology to withstand the most rugged environments. We have a career opportunity for an electrical engineer to provide technical oversight and direction to the hardware design team. This role is a technical lead in the HW design group, where one can lead a world class hardware team, as well as still making individual technical contributions on the team. The candidate will be a strong technical leader, providing technical oversight and direction to the hardware design team.

This role will play a key role as a hardware engineering team member developing and sustaining data storage and transfer systems for the Data Systems Product Line, while contributing directly to hardware development efforts on programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team to design, develop and verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet requirements.
• Lead engineering efforts to support production to resolve manufacturing issues or field failure investigation.
• Create engineering design guidelines, work instructions and checklists for design consistency and process improvement to reduce future development cost.
• Lead efforts to improve design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT).
• Provide technical leadership for new and on-going projects.
• Act as technical liaison with Manufacturing, Operations and Program Management.
• Provide technical expertise and experience to assist Program Managers and Technical Project Managers to develop cost estimate and integrated master schedule to ensure they are clearly defined.

Salary Transparency : Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range : $95,200 - $199,900 for a Principal Hardware Engineer in Torrance, CA. This range is a general guideline for Mercury team members and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
