Position : Mold Technician Plant : Oklahoma City

Classification : Non-Exempt / Hourly Reports To : Shift Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY : It is the responsibility of this role to set up and oversee molding machine operation to ensure efficiency and quality, and to occasionally serve as back up in the absence of a Shift Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :

• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Exemplifies the Behaviors and Values at all times. Leads by example and exhibits professionalism in all areas when representing the company inside and outside of the plant.
• Work in a professional manner with other mold technicians and maintenance personnel as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality product being released to the customer.
• Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules.
• Must have a technical understanding of process and raw materials used.
• Keep supervisor / management informed of all problems.
• Startup machines in a timely manner and monitor quality at start up.
• Complete Line Clearance documentation and procedure after completion of each job.
• Make appropriate adjustments to machines to maintain efficient production levels and document appropriately.
• Perform mold repairs, insert changes, and preventative maintenance as required.
• Respond to Quality Assurance Techs by adjusting machines to maintain appropriate sizes and standards.
• Oversee proper packaging procedures.
• Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands.
• Respond promptly to alarms and / or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and / or Packer / Handler problems.
• Use proper Lockout / tagout procedures.
• Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions.
• Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers.
• Ability to effectively perform the Packer / Handler job to assist with relief breaks.
• Assist with Material Handling as needed.
• Keep the floor stocked with materials required for production (fitments / handles / labels / tape, etc.).
• Responsible for ensuring quality and housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Ensure a smooth transition between shifts.
• Various other duties as assigned.
