Reports to : Clinical Nursing Supervisor
Classification : Non-Exempt
Summary :
The Licensed Vocational Nurse works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide patient care assistance to a defined patient population at the Center.
Salary Range : $35.00-45.00 / hour DOE
Key Responsibilities :
- Taking and monitoring vital signs
- Administration of medication and / or immunizations
- HCG urine tests, glucose and any other tests needed for patient
- Urinary catheter insertion or irrigation
- Suctioning of trach patients
- Starting of an IV
- Preparation of skin for procedures including but not limited to cleaning and shaving of skin
- Cleaning and disinfecting of instruments or equipment according to standardized procedures
- Providing patient education regarding diagnosis or guidelines for preparations of procedures
- Assisting the RN with gathering medical records and handling clinic tasks
- Assisting with minor office procedures
- Inputs, retrieves, and interprets data from multiple manual and computer information systems
- Utilizes critical thinking skills to recognize and solve patient problems
- Collaborates with the medical staff to facilitate and optimize patient care
- Documenting patient care in electronic medical record
- Answering messages and returning phone calls
- Specific duties may vary depending on assignment and scope

Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) CertificationCurrent BLS certification for Healthcare ProvidersOne to three years LVN experience in related clinical settings (preferred)Experience in an oncology setting (preferred)Ambulatory care / Physician office experience
