Summary :
Responsibilities :
Daily patient billing generated by reflexive testing as guided and requested by all reference labs.
Patient billing of all lab work sent out by the Cancer Center or other clinical departments, including reconciliation of orders and results for filing into the patient record.
Crediting or reversing charges in the lab and hospital system as directed by lab staff for valid reasons.
Performing all manual charge and credit functions from the anatomic laboratory as requested.
Charge reconciliation for clinical and anatomic systems. This includes investigation and correction of all items on the charge error work list and checking and recording all differences found in the worksheets provided by Revenue Cycle management.
Preparing all monthly charge invoices for any entity that utilizes our laboratory for services and checking to be sure all payments are received i.e. Occupational Health, the County Coroner etc.
Reconciliation of all invoices sent to the laboratory from reference laboratories and checking to be sure all patients have been charged as listed.
Preparation of lab charge document twice per year for use by lab staff. This is posted so lab staff and supervisors can check the coding and charges for the work performed.
Assist the Administrative Director in changes to the lab billing system based on changes in coding as found twice a year.
Keep all charges up to date for all reference labs that bill Chester County for services.
Communication with Penn Medicine laboratory financial personnel as requested by the lab director.
Maintain all billing documents in an orderly, retrievable system.
Credentials :
MT(ASCP) Certification preferred
