Location : Assigned Campus Cafeteria.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, supervises, and instructs designated cafeteria staff in the most efficient operation of equipment and preparation of meals.
- Checks food shipments, signs receipts, and ensures they are stored properly.
- Determines portion sizes, numbers to be fed, and food substitutions, if necessary, daily.
- Ensures food is prepared as planned, tested, and of high quality for students and staff.
- Prepares cost breakdowns, requisitions, correspondence, and other clerical work as required.
- Checks supplies, equipment, and cafeteria area to assure safety and protection from theft and vandalism.
- Maintains sanitation of facilities, food safety, kitchen staff, and students; reports problems to proper authorities.
- Reports to Child Nutrition Supervisor any irregularities with personnel or food.
- Keeps abreast of latest institutional food handling techniques through self or departmental education.
- Keeps the Redbook updated on a daily basis.
- Checks freezers and coolers during certain holidays and the summer months if needed.
- Maintains temperature logs for cooling / equipment and storage areas.
- Manages fixed assets assigned to the cafeteria.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
- Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Maintains appropriate professional appearance and regular attendance.
- Maintains availability for team communications by email / text / voice as directed.
- Operates under the procedures outlined in the Child Nutrition Team's operations manual.
Qualifications
Ability to communicate well, both orally and in writing.Proper certification as required by state.Pass physical exam as stipulated and be able to walk, stand, lift, and stoop for long periods.Diplomatic, congenial manner; neat, well-groomed appearance.Supervisory skill and ability.High School Diploma or equivalent.Reports To

Job Goal
The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for managing the school cafeteria for students and faculty and supervising the staff in preparing and serving attractive, nutritious meals to students and staff in a clean, cheerful atmosphere.
Additional Information
Participation in the approved district Staff Development Program.Performs other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor. Evaluations are annual for means of determining re-hiring / termination and may occur multiple times per year at the supervisor's discretion.

This position is based on a 9 month agreement. Compensation to be established by the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Trustees on an annual basis. This position is "At Will."
