Network Operations Center (NOC) Analyst

Position Summary

DataField Technology Services is seeking a motivated NOC Analyst in either Charlotte NC or Columbia SC . The NOC Analyst serves as the first line of defense for monitoring and managing transport (SONET, DWDM, IP, Ethernet) and voice services. This role operates within a 24x7 Network Operations Center (NOC) environment, ensuring the continuous uptime and performance of core, distribution, carrier last mile, and customer premise network installations. The Analyst is responsible for troubleshooting, incident remediation, and documenting mitigation strategies for network issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Monitoring & Surveillance : Perform in-depth monitoring of SONET, DWDM, IP, and Ethernet networks.
• Incident Response & Remediation : Serve as the first responder to network alerts, prioritizing the timely resolution of critical issues.
• Troubleshooting & Support : Provide Tier 1 support and escalation point for network issues across transport, IP, Ethernet, and voice services.
• Documentation & Knowledge : Research and document various mitigation strategies, maintaining current knowledge of deployed network technologies.
• System Administration : Perform basic system administration tasks, including network / system troubleshooting, patching, and utilizing scripts for task automation.
