Overview
The Strategic Account Director, Life Sciences, is responsible for developing a strategic account plan to address and solve the client’s key challenges and business objectives. This role will define long‑term goals for assigned accounts, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, and lead strategic discussions. The Account Director will also coordinate customer participation in industry‑specific seminars and roundtables, engage subject matter experts and vendor partners to architect solutions, and ensure profitable revenue growth, service expansion, and overall account retention.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Thought Leadership
- Serve as an industry subject matter expert by facilitating strategic planning discussions with customers and participating in industry seminars.
- Share and apply best practices with prospective customers and peer Account Directors.
- Lead quarterly reviews and annual strategy sessions with appropriate subject matter experts.
Research and Networking
Prepare targeted questions to uncover key challenges and opportunities for value‑added solutions.Connect customer requirements to industry trends and extract priorities from financials.Collaborate with the Digital Solutions Center to address portfolio gaps and achieve client outcomes.Account Development
Build strong relationships at all organizational levels to ensure account growth.Identify key business owners and understand their objectives relative to overall account goals.Present relevant content and updates to department heads on account activities.Confidently articulate successful solution integrations.Share best practices internally and externally through summaries and press releases.Secure customer references and maintain relevant industry certifications.Revenue Growth
Achieve annual revenue and profit targets with a focus on long‑term growth.Develop robust business plans, including 1‑year and 3‑to‑5‑year strategic roadmaps.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Industry‑specific certifications preferred.5+ years of experience in Life Sciences and Pharmaceuticals.10+ years of successful sales experience.Experience working with executive leaders in Fortune 1000 companies.Proven track record in growing services.Skills and Abilities
