Role description

Arcadis , the industry leader in digital innovation, is looking for an experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Systems Engineer to lead our growing SCADA / I&C practice in Texas. As a Lead I&C Systems Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise and experience to successfully execute and deliver I&C and SCADA projects from inception to startup and turnover. You will work with multi-discipline, highly interactive teams on I&C and SCADA design, construction, and implementation projects for municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment, conveyance systems, and facilities.

Role accountabilities

• Oversee the development of technical design and construction documents including construction drawings, technical specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to create technical memoranda and design criteria, as well as develop SCADA system architecture, P&IDs, SCADA network diagrams, process control narratives, control schematics, panel layout diagrams, and interconnection diagrams.
• Assist project managers with defining the scope of work, preparing budgets, estimating costs, and developing project schedules.
• Oversee the design and implementation of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems.
• Conduct factory testing, site acceptance testing, field checkouts, and startups for I&C and SCADA systems.
• Program process control logic in PLCs and configure graphical HMIs for SCADA systems across various platforms.
• Manage the configuration of historical data collection, archiving, and report generation.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers and designers to support their professional growth.
• Travel up to 25% of the time to client sites and other Arcadis office locations as required.

Key skills and attributes

Self-direction and the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously while meeting project deadlines and completing task-driven objectives. Expertise in applying instrumentation and controls to process and electromechanical equipment, and in developing SCADA networks. Additional skills include designing and developing fiber optic cable networks for SCADA systems, understanding radio and cellular telemetry networks, and knowledge of IT and industrial networks.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000. Actual salaries will vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
