About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 2 years of cardiovascular intensive care experience

License : Active state nursing license required

Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred; CCRN or PCCN a plus

Must-Have :

Must have cardiovascular ICU or cardiac ICU background.

Experience with CVICU or cardiac ICU patients is essential.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and communication abilities.

Understanding of equipment and patient population in a cardiac setting.

Ability to float to ICU as needed.

Description :

This position requires the nurse to provide care in a cardiac intermediate unit.

The nurse will manage patients with various cardiac conditions including heart failure and those needing post-operative care from procedures like TAVRs, ablations, and monitors like Swan Ganz and external pacemakers.

The nurse will interpret cardiac strips and work with titrated drip medications such as dopamine, levophed, and insulin.

Nurses are expected to handle assignments with up to 3 patients, but may manage 4 depending on patient acuity.

Charge nurses and patient care technicians will be available on the unit.

Ventilator management and troubleshooting will be part of the responsibilities.

The unit will work with a range of patients including those post-cardiac procedures and more critical cases.

The nurse will follow established protocols and demonstrate compassion and time management in a high-stress environment.

Every other weekend and some holidays are required, with an expectation to float across different care levels as needed.

All scrubs must be appropriate in appearance, clean, and not excessively tight or loose.
