This position is a Night Shift position. All applicants must be able to work a 4 : 00pm - 2 : 30am shift.

Must have prior CNC Operations / Programming experience, preferably in a Manufacturing Environment

The CNC Programmer / Operator is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components for our boats. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and a preference for candidates with CAD experience to optimize and enhance our production processes.

Essential Duties :

  • Develop and write CNC programs for various machining operations based on engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce precision boat parts.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize part designs for manufacturability.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of production runs, including machine settings and program changes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all machining operations.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior CNC operators as needed.

Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in CNC programming and operation.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming languages.
  • Experience with various CNC machines, including mills and lathes.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in the boat manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360).
  • Certifications such as NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) or equivalent.
  • Physical Requirements :

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements include eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, protective suits, dusts masks and respirators.
  • The employee is regularly required to be on their feet; occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Constant use of hands / hand tools for assembly, fine manipulation, inspecting parts, and / or machine operating. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This employee is regularly expected to utilize machinery and equipment which causes consistent vibration and high impact motions
  • Employees must be able to work a 10-hour shift or more in one workday, including planned and unplanned overtime.
  • Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions.
  • This role requires annual HAZWASTE training
  • Work Environment :

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

    The noise level in the work environment can be moderate to loud and is non-climate controlled.
