Job description

Shipping And Receiving Specialist

The Shipping And Receiving Specialist is responsible for managing the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, ensuring they match purchase orders and are free from damage or discrepancies. This role involves preparing and processing shipping documents, tracking shipments, and coordinating with carriers for pickups and deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and checking for damage or discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and shipping labels.
  • Track and trace shipments, providing status updates to management and customer service representatives.
  • Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
  • Handle materials, including unloading trucks, sorting and stocking received items, and loading outgoing freight, potentially using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.
  • Manage inventory records using software systems, such as an ERP system, to ensure accurate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with company safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, drivers, and internal team members.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with inventory management.
  • Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The work takes place in a ventilated warehouse with a Monday to Friday schedule. Employees may need to operate equipment such as forklifts or pallet jacks.

    This is a Contract position based out of Miami, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
