What You Bring : \n \n
Proven experience in respiratory therapy within a hospital environment.\nStrong assessment and clinical skills, with the ability to develop and implement personalized care plans.\nExcellent patient communication and education skills, tailored to diverse needs.\nAbility to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.\nProficient in basic computer systems for documentation and data entry.\nTeam-oriented mindset with a commitment to patient safety and quality care.\n\n
Preferred Education & Experience :
\n \n
Graduate of a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.\nValid Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) or eligibility.\nCurrent Massachusetts State Respiratory Therapist License .\nCertifications in ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), obtained within six months of hire if not already certified.\nPrevious hospital experience, especially in pulmonary diagnostics, mechanical ventilation, and emergency respiratory procedures.\n\n
Certifications & License Requirements :

Licensed Respiratory Therapist (Massachusetts) \nRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) (NBRC) or eligible\nACLS , NRP , and PALS certifications (must be obtained within 6 months of start date)\n\n
Key Responsibilities :
\n \n
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized respiratory care plans.\nAdminister respiratory treatments and oxygen therapy accurately and safely.\nPerform and analyze ABGs, Pulmonary Function Tests, and EKGs following hospital and ATS standards.\nSet up, monitor, and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators, BIPAP, and CPAP units.\nEducate patients and families on respiratory health, medication use, and equipment operation.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure safety protocols are followed, including VAP bundle components.\nMaintain precise documentation of clinical interventions, patient progress, and adverse events.\nAdminister medications as ordered, ensuring correct dosages and monitoring for side effects.\nAssist with specialized procedures, including fiberoptic bronchoscopy, and evaluate patient response for adjustments.\nReassess patient status regularly to adapt care plans promptly, ensuring optimal outcomes.\n\n
Physical Demands : \n \n
Ability to exert 20–50 pounds of force occasionally; 10–25 pounds frequently.\nReach, handle, stoop, and crouch as needed to perform various clinical tasks.\nContinuous use of hands and arms for procedures and equipment setup.\n\n
