Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with at least 1 year of recent specialty experience and ARDMS or ARRT certification for an acute care setting.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is based in an acute care hospital radiology department, primarily in ultrasound
  • General, breast, and vascular sonography performed
  • Trauma level 4 facility
  • Department has 2 ultrasound scanners
  • Average daily volume is 6-8 scans or studies
  • Providers cover ultrasound in both hospital and clinic settings 2-3 days per week
  • Uses MEDITECH 6.1 for EMR and Merge PACS for imaging
  • Canon ultrasound equipment is used in the department
  • Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM with no weekends or holidays
  • No call or standby requirements
  • Works under the supervision of a director with no lead tech or registered radiology assistant in department
  • No IV starts required
  • Radiologist coverage onsite 2 weeks on, 1 week off
  • Department-specific 1 : 1 orientation provided with a tech for 1-2 weeks
  • No set scrub color required and scrubs are not provided

  • Valid ARDMS and / or ARRT certification required
  • Current BLS certification from AHA
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a sonographer in the specified specialty
  • Hospital or acute care ultrasound experience required
  • Experience with MEDITECH and Merge PACS preferred
  • No first-time travelers will be considered
  • License required if applicable
  • Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
