Senior Data Engineer

Healthtech organization

Fully remote (the company are based in Austin, TX)

160,000 to $180,000 + 10% bonus

Company Overview

We have been exclusively retained to work with a pioneering healthcare analytics software company with a primary focus on Medicaid data. Their mission is to enhance the quality of care and services for underserved populations.

Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the company's data infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to build robust and scalable data pipelines that power the company's decision-making processes.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Orchestration & Automation : Leverage Airflow as the orchestration framework to build robust, automated data pipelines. Drive productization of data solutions, standardizing processes to scale.
  • Data Pipeline Development : Build the underlying architecture to support large-scale data movement in complex batch-processing environments.
  • Collaboration & Problem-Solving : Work alongside a collaborative, experienced team of engineers. Participate in code management (source control, QA, etc.), and engage in strategic problem-solving similar to a software engineering track.
  • Data Integrity & QA : Implement automation and QA checks, and contribute to the health of the data pipeline through regular reporting and integrity checks.

Requirements to be successful in the role :

  • Previous experience as a Data Engineer
  • Strong SQL (non-Microsoft SQL preferred).
  • Proficient in Python
  • Experience with Airflow for orchestration.
