A sign-on bonus of $2500 is being offered for eligible candidates. Payout contingent on funding availability. Primary Purpose of Position :

DNCR Human Resources is seeking a well-rounded Benefits and Wellness Consultant to join our team! The Benefits and Wellness Consultant will provide centralized support and direction to the division HR offices in all operational functions. It will define and document processing standards in multiple subject areas which will ensure the flow of business and provide guidance to ensure consistency in procedures. This position will assist the Benefits Manager in responding to inquiries requiring aspects of policy, procedures and practices in all operational areas. Therefore, this position must have knowledge of all HR policies as well as technical experience using the Integrated HR Payroll System. This position will also be responsible for assisting with special projects and training. Special projects often require developing directions and spreadsheets for statewide implementation. To develop accurate directions requires a detailed understanding of employment and pay policies and how various HR policies interact.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Reviews, audits and analyzes data and information in the HRIS system for compliance.
  • Ensures that all Leave-related personnel actions are processed accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Runs and analyzes various Benefits, Time, Payroll, and Leave Reports.
  • Ensures that Qualifying Life Events (QLE) are reviewed for compliance and approved timely.
  • Participates in employee appreciation, service, and recognition programs
  • Assists with conducting Benefits, Time, and Leave training.
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.

Position / Physical Requirements :

  • Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5, with flexibility 40 hours a week.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies :

  • Demonstrated experience in benefits, time administration, leave and payroll.
  • Demonstrated experience in running HRIS reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing consultation to HR Managers, HR Techs, and / or HR Analysts.
  • Demonstrated experience with various types of PA actions, their system field requirements, and policy requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience using an HRIS system.
  • Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :

    Bachelor's degree, typically in Human Resources OR related field from an appropriately accredited institution; OR High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma AND 3 years of progressive experience in Human Resources; OR equivalent combination or education and experience.

    Division Description :

    The Human Resources Office (HR) provides comprehensive human resources and safety services to all divisions throughout the agency. Current staffing is over 2,200 positions, plus seasonal / supplemental staffing. The core services include policy administration, employee relations, staff development, benefits, classification and compensation, recruitment and retention, salary administration, diversity and inclusion, performance management, safety and wellness. The HR office supports the mission of the agency by providing policy interpretation, processes, and staff development opportunities in all aspects of HR. The HR office strives to create efficient processes and services that utilize technology to enhance the processes and benefits available to employees as well as expand staff development.

    Veteran's and National Guard Preference :
