Description :
The nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to individuals requiring short-term evaluation and treatment.
This role focuses on rapid assessment, frequent reassessment, care coordination, and timely intervention for patients with diverse medical and surgical conditions.
The nurse works in a fast-paced environment, balancing efficiency with compassionate, evidence-based care.
Key responsibilities include performing timely and comprehensive initial assessments and frequent reassessments to monitor patient progress.
Implementing and adjusting care plans based on provider orders, patient condition changes, and clinical judgment is essential.
Medications, treatments, IV therapies, and diagnostic preparations will be administered per protocol.
The nurse monitors vital signs, labs, and diagnostic results, promptly reporting changes and abnormal findings.
Patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions will be provided.
Coordination of care with physicians, case management, and multidisciplinary teams to support timely disposition is required.
Accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record is critical.
Facilitating efficient admission, transfer, and discharge workflows will be part of the role.
The nurse supports safe and smooth transitions of care, including follow-up appointments and patient teaching.
Responding to urgent situations and performing emergency interventions within scope of practice is necessary.
Maintaining compliance with infection control standards, patient safety protocols, and regulatory requirements is crucial.
Participation in performance improvement activities to enhance patient experience, throughput, and clinical outcomes is expected.
The patient population will primarily consist of adult patients aged 18 and older.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1 : 5, with no defined ratios.
Telemetry experience is preferred, and common diagnoses include chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT / PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma.
The dress code includes galaxy blue scrubs.
