Design Modeler

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc (HATCI) is looking for a Clay Modeler for our Genesis Design Center in El Segundo, CA who will :

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Creation of scale and full-size interior and exterior models for design evaluation by Designers and Engineers following verbal instructions and drawings.

Produce interior and exterior models to the instruction and / or direction of Designers, managers, and Chief Designer.

Communicate with project team to assure modeling needs and expectations are met.

Consult with Engineering and Management on design issues.

Ensure compliance with Air Quality Management District (AQMD) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, California OSHA requirements, and manage Studio maintenance.

Assist with inventory tracking, procurement, receiving and stocking of studio materials and tools.

Assist with crating and shipping of all models.

Assist with research and acquisition of new equipment and tools for studio.

Create and present technical reports.

Perform administrative functions such as purchasing requests, timecard, vacation requests, travel requests, etc.

Perform additional projects as assigned.

Travel up to 20% of time domestically and internationally.

Utilize Digital tools available.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

High School diploma

1-7 years hands on experience creating Models for major Automotive manufacturer

5 years' experience coordinating work with Design Managers, Senior Engineers, Color and Trim Designers, and Chief Designer to understand design and engineering requirements

Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

Expert knowledge and understanding of Manual Surface Development.

Expert knowledge of Model making techniques, tools, materials, and equipment

Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering and manufacturing

Be able to support the digitally driven design process.
