Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Level Computer Aided Design (CAD) Engineer Analyst to join our Team. This role requires the individual be knowledgeable of both industry standard CAD S / W packages and the engineering characteristics and constraints upon which they are based. Prior experience in developing detailed CAD packages for missile systems is desired.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop Detailed CAD Packages : The individual will leverage both available engineering information sources and their own engineering experience to develop detailed CAD packages for a variety of missile systems. These designs must reflect both internal and external structures and components to provide an integrated view of each system as it transitions through various configurations over the course of its flight. This effort will include the execution of structural stress / strain analyses across the expected force and moment environments to demonstrate the designs' integrity.
- Execute CAD Meshing for Radar Cross Section (RCS) Modeling : The individual will mesh CAD models to develop the input files required by various RCS modeling tools. This effort will require the individual to work closely with RCS modelers to obtain a final CAD package that supports both physical and RCS signature representation requirements.
Daily Operations
Daily interaction with other team members to :Ensure model requirements and development timelines are understood
Ensure the model under development is consistent with / will support the design constraints identified by team members developing other aspects of the system (e.g. flight operations and environments, payload contents and packaging)Participation in development working groups meetings and system development design reviewsDevelopment of System CAD model and execution of required supporting analysesDevelopment of RCS modeling meshing files and coordination with RCS modeling team membersDevelopment of CAD model / Mesh file documentationRequired Experience and Technical Skills
Experience with industry-standard CAD S / W packages such as NX, CREO and SOLIDWORKS to develop models of complex systems composed of multiple subsystems and components.Ability to develop and deliver briefings in a Windows 365-based environmentAbility to conduct data analysis using Windows and / or Linux-based databases and tools.4+ years' experience developing CAD models of large scale, complex Department of Defense or similar programs.
