Medical Assistant

Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office.
Responsibilities include : Activating My Chart Accounts, ensuring Telehealth connectivity for scheduled appointments, performing basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, assisting with patient assessments and treatments under the supervision of a physician, managing in-basket messages and patient phone calls, maintaining equipment and medical supplies, following up on reported issues, reviewing patient charts, monitoring and communicating changes in patient condition, documenting patient care provided, providing discharge instructions, and performing administrative or clerical duties as assigned.
Competencies required include : ACCOUNTABILITY, ASSESSMENT-PATIENTS, CUSTOMER SERVICE, DEVELOPS RELATIONSHIPS, KNOWLEDGE OF DISEASE PROCESS, MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION, PATIENT AND FAMILY CENTERED CARE, PATIENT SAFETY-NURSING, PROBLEM SOLVING, RESPONDING TO CHANGE, STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR.
Education and Certification Requirements include : Accredited Program, BLS American Heart E-Card, BLS American Heart RQI E-Card, BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard, BLS Certification Grace, BLS Cert Red Cross.
Additional Job Information : Complexity of Work requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience : No prior work experience required. Other Information : Can be graduate of an accredited EMT or MA program, possess Medical Assistant Registration or Certification, or have six months of patient care experience.
