Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac / Pulmonary Med / Surg position with Level 1 Trauma and Epic charting experience.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Cardiac / Pulmonary Med / Surg unit of a hospital setting
  • Day shifts, 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM, three shifts per week
  • Care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients
  • Uses Epic EMR; experience required
  • Unit is part of a Level 1 Trauma center
  • Collaboratively develop and implement patient care plans with patients and families
  • Prepare patients for procedures and provide pain management, medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, and lab monitoring
  • Perform discharges and provide patient and family instruction for hospital transitions
  • Delegation and follow-up responsibilities as appropriate to staff members
  • Professional communication and conflict management required
  • RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13 week contract
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • No travel partners accepted
  • Travelers may remain on assignment up to one year and must take a 30–60 day break before any new assignment

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing; temporary license accepted
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience required
  • Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting required
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • ASN required; BSN preferred
