As a Special Education Teacher at Meliora Academy, you will create individualized learning experiences that help students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Youll design and implement instruction tailored to each students unique needs, using research-based interventions and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure every student thrives.
What Youll Need
Comprehensive Special Education (CT 165) certification
Experience developing and implementing IEPs and progress reports
Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills
Current Safety Care, First Aid, and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain)
What Youll Do
Develop and implement IEPs aligned with each students goals and needs
Adapt and deliver curriculum using research-based teaching methods
Collaborate with BCBAs, therapists, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
Supervise and train classroom staff in instructional and behavioral techniques
Track and report student data and progress accurately and on time
