Travel RN Job Details

Location : Petersburg, VA 23805 (Virginia nursing jobs)

Unit : Telemetry Neuro Unit (5W) – Neuro / Telemetry nursing

Setting : 30-bed unit (flexes to 35 beds)

Employment Type : Travel RN Contract

Shift : 12-hour Nights; every other weekend / holiday required

Hours per Week : 36

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 3 / 2025, End : 1 / 31 / 2026)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,880 - $2,020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (Registered Nurse license required)

BLS certification and NIHSS certification required

Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience

At least 1 year of travel nursing experience preferred

Must reside at least 50 miles from facility (travel nurse eligibility)

Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided)

EPIC EHR experience preferred

Ability to float to other med / surg units as needed

RN Responsibilities – Telemetry Neuro Unit

Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital and nursing standards

Coordinate patient care, acting as a liaison between departments, families, and caregivers

Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms (Monitor Techs available for support)

Provide care for adult patients with CVA / TIA, peritoneal dialysis, hypertension, diabetes, and other medical / surgical conditions

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient safety and quality improvement

Float to other medical / surgical units as required

Maintain professionalism, compassion, and adaptability in a fast-paced hospital setting

Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
