Job descriptionRole : Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Schedule : 3x12 hour night shifts (7p-7a); weekend rotation; holidays as needed Unit : 30-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care (PCU), rooms monitored by Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department (CCMD) Patient Ratio : Typically 1 : 5; 1 : 4 with drips / BiPAP Staffing Support : Nurse Assistants 24 / 7; RN secretary 7a-11p Scheduling : 6-week self-assisted schedule via Optilink; based on departmental need, patient acuity, skill mix, and previous assignments Minimum Experience : 2 years Cardiac PCU required; first-time travelers accepted Preferred Experience : Previous Charge RN experience Certifications Required : BLS, ACLS; NIH preferred EMR System : EPIC Rapid Response Teams : Preferred experience Required Clinical Skills : Dysrhythmia interpretation & management Telemetry monitoring Pre / post cardiac catheterization care Peripheral & PICC line care / management Management and titration of cardiac / vasoactive drips Procedural sedation administration Chest tube & external CPAP / BiPAP management Tracheostomy management Patient Population Focus : Primary : Cardiac (CHF, ACS, arrhythmias, pre / post cath, MI, syncope, pacemaker) Secondary : Respiratory (COPD, pneumonia, BiPAP) Mandatory Exam : Pass / Fail EKG exam required for all RNs Experienced Cardiac PCU RN, comfortable managing up to 5 patients, skilled in cardiac and respiratory care, and flexible with schedule and compliance requirements.
