Overview
As the President’s senior advisor and strategic partner, the Chief of Staff will oversee daily operations of the Office of the President, advance key institutional priorities, and coordinate initiatives across the college.
Responsibilities
- Lead coordination and implementation of presidential initiatives and institutional priorities.
- Manage operations within the Office of the President, ensuring efficiency and clear communication.
- Support the President and Cabinet by organizing executive decision‑making processes, tracking outcomes, and maintaining accountability.
- Serve as liaison between the President and internal constituencies, community, governmental, and industry partners.
- Prepare and coordinate materials, briefings, and communications for the President and the Board of Trustees.
- Direct and monitor cross‑divisional projects related to institutional effectiveness, workforce development, innovation, and student success.
- Advance resource development initiatives in collaboration with the Vice President for Advancement and Legislative Affairs.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.Advanced degree (Master’s, J.D., Ph.D., or Ed.D.) from an accredited institution preferred.Experience
Ten years of senior‑level experience managing operations, leading initiatives, and contributing to institutional effectiveness, workforce development, and innovation in a large or complex organization.Demonstrated success in leading complex, high‑impact projects and advancing institutional priorities.Significant experience working directly with a chief executive and senior leadership team.Experience supporting shared governance, community partnerships, and cross‑divisional initiatives identified by the President.Skills & Conduct
Strong strategic, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build trust across diverse groups.High ethical standards and proven ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and transparency in handling confidential matters.Proficiency with technology and data systems to enhance planning and decision‑making.Travel may be required for this position.
This position is subject to a background check, pre‑employment drug screen, and education verification at the expense of the College.
