Exciting Opportunity for Structural Engineers
We are looking for a passionate and motivated recent graduate or early-career Structural Engineer with EI or EIT certification to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with the Engineer of Record on a variety of innovative telecom projects, leveraging your knowledge of building construction types and engineering principles.
The ideal candidate will have familiarity with wireless equipment (such as antennas, fiber, and carrier services) and experience with structural analysis and design of towers and mounts. You will be expected to adhere to project specifications and ensure thorough documentation of your work.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct detailed structural analyses of telecom towers, including monopole, guyed, and lattice designs.
- Analyze and modify original tower mounts to ensure structural integrity.
- Review the work of Associate and Design Engineers, contributing to reports and calculations for licensed professional engineer approval.
- Perform quality assurance reviews on third-party analyses as part of Vendor QA.
- Identify areas for cost-effective modifications to improve existing structures.
- Develop analysis tools and conduct training sessions for staff development.
- Take the lead on small to moderate-sized projects.
- Contribute as an engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) on larger projects.
- Diagnose issues with tower overstresses and design practical reinforcement solutions.
- Specify reinforcement systems and document calculations meticulously.
- Create conceptual sketches for structural detailing to assist with design, fabrication, and erection processes.
- Review AutoCAD drawings for compliance with design specifications.
- Assist in developing engineering processes and standards.
- Serve as Project Engineer and main client contact for smaller projects.
- Coordinate with other disciplines such as architecture and mechanical engineering.
- Manage routine contract administration tasks.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.Must possess EI or EIT certification; PE or SE in civil structural engineering is a plus.1-5 years of relevant experience or coursework in structural engineering, particularly in concrete, wood, and steel.Familiarity with the telecom industry, including wireless equipment understanding.Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced in structural analysis and design.Knowledge of TNX Tower, Enercalc, PLS Caisson, and Risa 3D Programs is preferred.Flexible work schedule with willingness to work in various weather conditions.Strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.Self-starter with a commitment to learning and knowledge retention.Ability to work collaboratively within teams as well as independently.Willingness to travel within local markets, with minimal travel (15%, typically 1-2 day trips).The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $65,000.
