About The Position

License : Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.
Certifications : Advanced certification in MR required within one year of employment.
Must-Have : Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Description :
Patient identification is essential.
Uses professional manners and methods.
Verifies patient identification and obtains patient history.
Assists patients and family members requiring extra attention.
Ensures patient understanding whenever possible and insures patient safety.
Asks and documents pregnancy status on patients of childbearing age.
Demonstrates knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy.
Is competent in the operation of MRI scanners.
Proficient in automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS, and laser printers.
Maintains active status with the ARRT by accruing continuing education credits when needed.
Interprets protocols and selects appropriate scanning parameters.
Shares knowledge with fellow MRI technologists.
Uses technical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting problems related to equipment and protocols.
Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols.
Establishes intravenous lines and administers IV contrast following safe injection procedures.
Follows correct procedures to determine contrast eligibility.
Checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection according to protocols.
Maintains a thorough understanding of PACS and transmits images to quality control and electronic medical records.
Verifies and segments images accurately.
Accesses service tools to verify image transmission.
Completes, modifies, and cancels orders in a timely manner.
Cancels duplicate orders to avoid billing issues.
Ensures all charge information is accurate.
Verifies patient identification in accordance with policy.
Maintains accurate demographic information on images.
Performs tasks in a timely manner and creates a consistent workflow.
Volunteers to work on challenging tasks and difficult procedures.
Produces quality diagnostic images and reviews patient's charts for correlation.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
Creates and keeps documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities.
Precepts new employees and students.
