American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of recent cardiac catheterization lab experience and current ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab within an acute care, Magnet, Level I trauma centerAdult and geriatric patient population with procedures including cardiac implant closure devices, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic catheterizations, IABP placement / removal, PCI, PTCA, right and left heart catheterization, and Rotablader athrectomyTypical shifts are 4x12 days (6 : 30 AM – 7 : 00 PM), but alternate options are possible (3x12, 4x10, 5x8); schedule requests can be discussed with the managerCall is required as needed, with flexible rotation among staff and a dedicated call teamWill work 2–3 weekends per contract and must work 2 out of 3 major holidaysNo IR cases; no floating required within facilityPatient ratios and daily caseload information provided upon interviewUses Cerner EMR; prior Cerner experience requiredScrubs are providedDuties include performing and assisting with cardiac catheterization procedures, maintaining sterile technique, monitoring for and responding to cardiac arrhythmias, and equipment setupMust adhere to infection control protocols and isolation precautionsTeam includes hospital staff and a dedicated call team for after-hours casesNo floating required within or to other departmentsUp to 5 non-holiday days off may be approved; additional time off requires facility approvalCandidates who have worked in a perm or PRN role at this facility must be away for at least 12 months before applying as a travelerLocals are accepted with no radius requirementAllied clinicians who do not require a state license must arrive three business days before the start for fingerprinting\n \n Requirements\n
Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settingActive ACLS, BLS, ARRT, and RCIS certifications requiredMust have active IL license to apply (if applicable)Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures and responsibilities : cardiac implant closure, stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP, PCI, PTCA, dysrhythmia interpretation, equipment setup, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmiasKnowledge of infection control practices including isolation precautions and sterile techniqueExperience with adult and older adult populations requiredPrevious Cerner EMR use requiredFirst-time travelers are accepted\n Benefits\n
