Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab experience and required ARRT or RCIS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Position is in a high-acuity, acute care hospital cath lab that is a Level I trauma center and Magnet facility
  • Work schedule consists of 3x12 hour day shifts from 6 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM
  • Cares for middle-aged and older adult cardiac patients
  • Required to work 2 to 3 weekends per contract and take on-call as needed
  • Patient procedures include cardiac implant closure, stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, rotablader athrectomy, and scrub procedures
  • Cerner EMR experience is required for charting
  • Primary duties include performing cardiac catheterization procedures and maintaining strict infection control practices
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Parking permit provided at no cost
  • Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays as part of the contract
  • Float requirements do not apply for this position
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Requested time off is ideally limited to 5 days
  • Former perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before reapplying as a traveler

  • Minimum of 1 year recent cardiac cath lab experience required
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • ARRT or RCIS certification required
  • Must have experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures
  • Ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and utilize sterile technique
  • Experience caring for middle-aged and older adults required
  • Active IL license required at time of application if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
  • Cerner experience required
