Alabama State University, College of Liberal Arts and Social Science, Department of Social Work, invites applications for the position of Instructor of Social Work. This is a 10-month tenure-track position. The successful candidate will teach across the Social Work curriculum, engage in student advising, participate in professional, academic, and community service, engage in scholarly research including the publication of peer-reviewed publications, obtain extramural funding, and participate in professional conferences.
An earned Ph.D. in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education or a related discipline AND an earned M.S.W. or M.S.S.W. from an accredited social work program with a minimum of three years post-masters social work practice experience, AND experience in teaching a minimum of 3 different courses at a post-secondary education institution as indicated on the curriculum vitae is preferred. A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited program, and 8 years of post-graduate social work practice experience will be considered.
Preferences will be given to candidates with a diverse practice experience and who are licensed as a LGSW, LMSW, or LICSW, particularly those who have experience in Forensic Social Work or Social Work in Criminal Justice or Law settings.
