We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to support a large-scale enterprise application modernization and data management program within a complex, multi-agency environment. This position is part of a team responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of mission-critical database systems used across financial, operational, and analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 24x7 support for database infrastructure, including production operations, disaster recovery, and incident response.
• Develop, maintain, and execute installation, patch management, maintenance, and upgrade plans for SQL Server and Azure SQL environments.
• Assess the impact of new technologies or configuration changes, propose solutions to complex technical challenges, and collaborate with technical and business stakeholders on implementation strategies.
• Establish, document, and enforce database standards, policies, and procedures for performance, backup, and security management.
• Monitor and optimize database performance, space utilization, and capacity planning across development, test, and production environments.
• Manage database integrity, replication, and backup environments, ensuring high availability and recoverability.
• Execute scripts for the creation and modification of database objects (tables, views, indexes, constraints, etc.) as provided by application development teams.
• Monitor scheduled jobs and processes, troubleshoot failures, and ensure the reliability of nightly and weekly batch operations.
• Participate in configuration and support of clustered and replicated database environments, including implementation of data retention, archiving, and recovery strategies.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive systems documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the DBA and DevOps teams.
