The Opportunity
This role is on a hybrid schedule in either our DET or CLT office - partially in office a few days with some remote days
The Manager – Credit Risk Measurement and Quantification is responsible for the execution of Independent Risk Management’s monitoring, and review and challenge of credit risk measurement activities within the Consumer Auto Business Line; including, loss forecasting, stress testing, allowance for credit losses, credit scorecards and related credit models. This is an individual contributor role.
The Work Itself
- Document credit measurement related processes for the Auto business line including when and how models are used and monitored. Identify assumptions, estimates, model inputs / outputs, sensitivity, and areas where judgment is applied. Become IRM’s subject matter expert on credit measurement processes, able to describe various processes to analysts and leadership. In-scope processes include :
- Underwriting : Scorecards, Credit tier and grade assignments
- Loss Forecasting : Net Average Annual Loss Rate (NAALR) estimates, including accuracy of the forecast (proforma)
- Loss Forecasting : Business as usual and capital planning / stress testing
- Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) : Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) allowance recommendations
- Develop summary level process documentation of in-scope processes
- Collaborate with IRM Credit, MRM, and the business line to evaluate recommended changes to in-scope processes
- Perform periodic review and challenge of the Auto business line loss forecast, ALLL, and stress test processes
- Develop strong relationships with Auto business line credit risk team members
The Skills You Bring
Bachelors degree required (quantitative degree preferred) . Master’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.Minimum 5 years evaluating complex processes and providing feedback (e.g. loss forecasting, ACL, underwriting, etc.)Minimum 3 years financial services experience, credit granting experience a plusMinimum 3 years of data analytics experience in one or more of the following : Python, Spark / Pyspark, Snowflake / Snowpark, SQL, R, VBA, Java, MatlabExcellent written and verbal skills with experience developing written documentation that provide transparency into complex processesExperience working across teams with competing objectives with ability to find common ground and effectively explaining position where disagreements arise while maintaining a positive working environmentModel development experience a plusExperience in a regulated environment a plusWell-developed analytical and problem-solving skills and experienceHigh level of personal integrity, with the ability to handle matters professionally, and with the appropriate level of judgement and maturityAdvanced consultative skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with all levels of an organizationHow We'll Have Your Back
