About Us :
Kentfield Dental is a premier dental practice dedicated to delivering outstanding dental care in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Conveniently located across from the College of Marin, our state-of-the-art facility features five operating rooms and ample dedicated parking for our patients and staff.
Our experienced team includes one hygienist, one dental assistant, one front desk coordinator, and a general dentist, all working together to ensure a seamless patient experience. We are open Monday through Thursday from 8am-5pm and break for lunch between 12-1pm. We cater primarily to an older and educated patient demographic in the heart of Marin County. Many of our patients have been with us for decades, and we pride ourselves in fostering strong relationships by taking the time to understand their unique needs and preferences.
At Kentfield Dental, we utilize Curve Hero, a cloud-based dental software. We use a handheld x-ray unit and digital radiographs along with cutting edge digital scanning and crown milling for same-day service. Our comprehensive services encompass a wide range of specialty procedures, including cosmetic bonding and veneers, extractions, implants, and orthodontics. We are committed to excellence by employing the latest techniques and using high-quality materials to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
Job Overview :
We’re seeking a dedicated team member who will embrace our culture of respect, compassion, and positivity while becoming an integral part of our practice. In this role, your primary responsibility will be conducting dental hygiene appointments out of a single dedicated column, but we require versatility and a willingness to pitch in with various tasks throughout the office.. Routine cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and single quadrant SRP appointments are typically scheduled for one hour timeslots.
As a small practice of just four team members, we foster a collaborative environment where everyone contributes to delivering excellent patient care.
Responsibilities :
Patient Intake : Escort patients into the operatory, review and update medical history, take vitals, acquire radiographs, perform perio charting, take intra-oral photos, and digital scans as needed.
Hygiene Appointment : Utilize Cavitron ultrasonic scaler, hand scalers, and prophy polish to perform routine cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing. Administer local anesthetic when needed. Use diode laser for soft tissue decontamination. Apply fluoride varnish and localized antibiotic agents when applicable.
Sterilization : Disinfect equipment, set up and break down your operatory, maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic. Ensure infection control protocols are diligently followed.
Notetaking : Maintain detailed patient records during exams and treatment.
Inventory Management : Take inventory for dental supplies and materials, manage ordering and stocking rooms as needed.
Appointment Scheduling : Aid with scheduling patient appointments and coordinating follow-up appointments as needed. Routine hygiene appointments are 1 hour in length.
Team Collaboration : Communicate effectively with dentist, hygienists, and administrative staff and contribute to a positive work environment.
Patient Communication : Connect with patients on a personal level, discuss details about pending treatment, and provide emotional support for anxious patients.
Requirements :
Active California RDH license
Experience : Strong periodontal and preventative care skills, confident with SRP and adjunct services such as laser treatment
Knowledge : Strong foundation in dental terminology, procedures, and infection control protocols. Proficiency in taking x-rays and using dental software systems.
Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities, work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment, attention to detail and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Team Player : Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and contribute positively to the clinic's culture.
Versatility : Versatility and a willingness to pitch in with various tasks throughout the office is required.
Professionalism : Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards in all interactions. Present a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
