Quantum Focus Instruments Corporation (QFI) located in Vista, CA is seeking a Systems Integration and Field Service Technician to support our current manufacturing and engineering teams. QFI is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced failure analysis and temperature measurement microscope systems for the semiconductor industry. The final assembly of these microscopes requires very detailed integration, calibration, and testing of multiple electrical, mechanical, and optical components. The complexity of the systems necessitates that installation and maintenance be performed by a field service technician. The successful candidate for this position will be involved in all the above areas.
This is a hands-on position that requires at least an associate's degree, preferably a bachelor's degree in engineering technology, or a related field, and / or equivalent work experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Support system assembly through the integration of electrical, mechanical, and optical subsystems.
- Set up and configure the system computer and perform system-level test and calibration.
- Create and maintain calibration and test documentation including acceptance test procedures and test results.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and repair at the subsystem and system level; create and maintain repair records.
- Perform installation and maintenance at customer sites (US and Europe).
- Provide customer service via online platforms (Webex, Teams, etc.) including remote software updates.
- Work collaboratively with other team members.
Qualifications :
AA or BS degree in Engineering Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.1-3 years relevant experience with degree; 3-5 years relevant experience without degree.Proficient in electro-mechanical assembly; experience or knowledge of electro-optics desired.Operational knowledge of Windows and ability to set up and configure desktop computers.Proficient at reading and understanding mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Experience in wiring multi-component systems (routing, bundling, wire management).Experience in testing electrical systems for proper operation.Hands-on experience with basic electronic instrumentation (power supplies, analog / digital meters, oscilloscopes, and function generators).Good mathematical skills; basic knowledge of physics a plus.Basic machine shop and / or soldering skills a plus.Ability to lift 70 lbs.US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (green card) required; mandatory pre-employment drug testing.Characteristics :
