Responsibilities :
ReviewsMD's referral and persons receiving services medical record prior to determining speech / language therapy services. Refers to specialty clinics as needed (ACC, dysphagia)Evaluate and assess the persons receiving services' needs and level of functioning in the areas of : speech, language, cognitive & social aspects of communication, voice, augmentative and / or alternative communication (ACC), and eating / management of diet (dysphagia)Devise treatment plans based on the assessment; administer treatment involving the application of communication and / or feeding aid modalitiesWrite specific, objective, and measurable documentation which is outcome oriented and details the persons receiving services' needs, potential to benefit from treatment and progress achieved to dateCommunicate effectively with discharge planning from rehabilitative programsPerform all other duties as assigned.Qualifications :
Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology schoolMaster's DegreeNYS Language Pathologist (SLP) licenseASHA Certificate of Clinical CompetenceSolid understanding the principles of modalities employed in SLPKnowledge in the use of Augmentative Communication devices, Therapeutic Feeding techniques, and Speech & Language Intervention strategiesComputer savvyGood written-verbal communication skillsMust be able to travel as assigned to other Healthcare Centers, Article 16, day programs, or residential sites, if warranted.
