Job description

Salary & Benefits :

  • Hourly Rate : $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

Job Summary :

The Nuclear Ultrasound Technologist performs advanced diagnostic imaging procedures utilizing both nuclear medicine and ultrasound modalities to assist physicians in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. This position combines technical expertise, patient care, and attention to detail to ensure the highest quality imaging and safety standards. The role offers a flexible schedule of three days per week.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine and ultrasound imaging studies in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols.
  • Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals while maintaining compliance with all radiation safety standards.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear and accurate images of organs, tissues, and vascular structures.
  • Review and assess images for quality and diagnostic value before submission for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain detailed patient documentation, including procedure notes, dose logs, and imaging results.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure comfort throughout the process.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and radiation protection policies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to support smooth departmental workflow.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of imaging equipment, reporting issues promptly.
  • Participate in continuing education, quality assurance initiatives, and professional development activities.
  • Qualifications :

  • Education : Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or a related field.
  • Certifications :
  • Current ARRT (N) or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology

  • ARDMS or ARRT (S) certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Licensure : Must hold or be eligible for applicable state licensure.
  • Experience : 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or hospital imaging environment preferred.
