Shipping Coordinator
The Shipping Coordinator will report to the Shipping / Receiving Manager in the West Bend plant. The shipping clerk is responsible for maintaining and verifying the records and documentation of outbound shipments. The shipping clerk will prepare the bills of lading and shipping orders.
Responsibilities
- Daily interactions with Customer Service Department to plan, organize, and review customer orders / shipment schedules.
- Ensure the customer is receiving the correct product and quantity per order.
- Assist in resolving any discrepancies.
- Interact with other department Manager / Lead to help coordinate what and when current and past due product will be available to shipping department.
- Answer / route all telephone calls in a polite manner, taking messages and routing to proper individual in a timely manner.
- Plans freight carrier needs using shipping points, weights, and dimensions as necessary.
- Provide tracking information as requested or required.
- Works with Customer Service to help fill customer requests.
- Coordinate with QC to ensure correct and current packaging requirements are being followed.
- Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers.
- Create Deliveries for Shipping personnel early enough to ensure product is pulled and turned in to the Shipping Office in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods
- Update tracking spreadsheets in computer system on a daily basis.
- Prepare accurate bills of lading for outbound freight while ensuring that the packing slips and invoices are accurate and without errors.
- Ensure that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
- Scan Shipping documents into specific folders in our computer system.
- Gather, enter into SAP system and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
