Position Overview :
As part of its ongoing commitment to bring high quality, fresh food to emergency food programs (EFP), the Food & Benefits Access unit requires dedicated, high impact grant administration to meet program objectives. This position will support the achievement of HPNAP goals through leadership of food and capital expense grant administration, monitoring, and reporting activities. This position will liaise with food and equipment vendors and emergency food program managers to ensure EFPs are able to safely distribute nutritious emergency food. The position will support Nourish NY grant responsibilities as needed and coordinate with Nourish NY team members.
Primary Responsibilities :
Grant Administration
- In coordination with Senior Director, Grants Administration, develop a strategy for annual food grant application, award and reporting cycle.
- Support FS and OS annual application process (500 applications) together with tech consultant and HPNAP / Nourish teams.
- Manage and deliver Application Workshops for EFPs.
- Support grants admin components of Award Workshops for EFPs and lead the strategy for enforcing mandatory attendance.
- Ensure that EFPs have sufficient resources, support, and opportunity to submit Food and OS applications.
- Coordinate with grant reviewers to ensure a sound and fair review process for applicants
- Manage applicant compliance / due diligence efforts and scoring processes.
- Responsible for preparation and distribution of Funding Agreements for all FS grantees in coordination with Legal; coordinate timely receipt in DocuSign.
- Conduct new EFP Site Visits for due diligence, and conduct 30 to 40 routine site monitoring visits.
- Monitor EFPs compliance to ensure eligibility to order from vendor(s); communicate with vendor enact and / or revoke ordering holds and facilitate food deliveries.
- Monitor EFPs for 15% produce purchasing requirement.
Capacity Services
Develop and lead Capital Equipment Grant, including :Identify EFPs in need of equipment for food safety recommended by Policy Committee members.
Manage application process.Identify vendors and lead equipment vendor communications (Bid, procurement, deliveries, follow-up, payment, etc.).Execute MOUs to recipient EFPs.Ensure proper labeling of HPNAP funded equipment & coordinate necessary disposal.Develop and lead Food Safety Supplies Grant to purchase eligible supplies for EFPs.Use Results Based Accountability Framework to track team goals.Skills, Knowledge, and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management or related field with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience or Master’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management or related fields with a minimum of 3 years work experience.Experience supporting community-based organizations; experience in grantmaking preferred.Knowledgeable about community nutrition, regional food systems, and community food insecurity issues and policies in NYC.Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent organizational, project management, and negotiation skills with ability to collaborate with diverse groups of people.Detail-oriented, self-motivated, driven, proactive, collaborative, flexible, and good-natured.Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Google Sheets.Must be willing to travel on public transportation within the 5 boroughs of NYC.Key Competencies :

Job Title Salary Range : Senior Manager salary rangeThe final determination of salary, within this range, will depend on the candidate’s education, skills and experience required for the position.
