PAYROLL & BENEFITS SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
Bethesda is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist responsible for payroll processing and benefits administration for all Bethesda employees. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations while providing excellent customer service to employees and managers. The Payroll & Benefits Specialist also supports leave administration. Bethesda utilizes ADP as its payroll and HRIS system.
Position Relationships Reports to : Director of Human Resources Internal Relationships : All staff and Department Directors External Relationships : Applicants and vendors.
Schedule :
- Full- time | 80 hours every two weeks
- Monday - Friday | 8 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 30 p.m.
Pay and Benefits :
$26.53 -$29.88 pay determined by experience.Full time benefits, medical, dental, PTO, retirement, employee discounts and moreKey Responsibilities :
Accurately process biweekly payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Manage the full cycle of payroll, including data entry, wage adjustments, deductions, garnishments, taxes, and reconciliations.Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related questions, providing timely and professional support to employees and managers.Administer employee PTO, ESST, Holiday and support other benefit-related leaves, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and government regulations.Maintain accurate payroll records and prepare required reports for auditors, government agencies, and leadership.Partner with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll and benefits align with organizational policies and reporting needs.Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and benefit requirements, proactively identifying and resolving discrepancies.Collaborate with auditors, benefit providers, and regulatory agencies as needed to support compliance and reporting requirements.Support open enrollment activities including implementation of new benefit programs.Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes as they relate to payroll and benefits.Stay current with payroll regulations, labor laws, and ADP system updates to recommend process improvements and maintain best practices.Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in skilled nursing facility, healthcare or a multi-site environment.Strong knowledge of payroll laws.Proficiency with ADP payroll systems required.High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
