Human Resources Generalist
Prestigious downtown firm seeking a well-rounded Human Resources Generalist with strong experience in multi-jurisdictional payroll and benefits administration, with payroll being the primary focus. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a professional services environment and is confident in supporting a wide range of HR functions.
Experience with UltiPro / UKG is required.
Job Title : Human Resources Generalist
Location : Houston, TX (Downtown)
Work Schedule : Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 days remote after 90-day probationary period)
Salary Range : $75,000 $95,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Schedule : Full-time, Monday Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities :
Payroll
- Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state employees, including reconciliations, adjustments, garnishments, and compliance reporting
- Ensure accuracy and timely submission of payroll data using UltiPro / UKG
- Assist with tax filings, profit-sharing distributions, and wage / hour compliance
- Support audits and maintain confidentiality of payroll information
Benefits Administration
Support day-to-day administration of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, COBRA, FMLA, and 401(k) benefitsCoordinate enrollment processes and resolve employee inquiriesLiaise with insurance carriers and brokers as neededMaintain compliance with benefit plan provisions and legal regulationsEmployee Relations & Engagement
Respond to routine employee questions and escalate more complex concernsSupport employee recognition and communication initiativesAssist in fostering a positive work environment through trust and transparencyPerformance Management
Assist with performance evaluation processes and documentationHelp track employee development programs and coaching plansMaintain accurate HRIS records of evaluations and job classificationsOnboarding & Recruitment
Facilitate onboarding activities including background checks and new hire paperworkCoordinate interview schedules and job postingsSupport hiring managers throughout the recruiting and onboarding processQualifications :
Minimum 5 years of HR experience, with a strong emphasis on payrollExperience in a professional services or legal environment requiredProficiency in UltiPro / UKG is requiredStrong understanding of federal, state, and local employment lawsExceptional communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize multiple tasksBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferredDemonstrated tenure and stability in prior roles (3+ years per employer ideal)
