PSW II - Water / Sewer CDL (Express)

The City of Independence will accept applications at Express Employment, 2009 North Penn Avenue for a PSW II position for work at the Water / Sewer Department. Basic Function Under supervision, operates and maintains light and medium equipment, including trucks, smaller front-end loaders, rollers, motor graders, street sweepers, and related equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Installs, repairs, and locates water and sewer mains and lines
• Maintains operation of the water and wastewater treatment plants
• Repair streets, manholes, and street signs
• Picks-up and disposes of trash and brush
• Reads, maintains, repairs, tests, and replaces water meters
• Trains in operation of equipment
• Turns on and off water service
• Maintains and repairs water pumps and service stations
• May supervise a small crew of laborers
• Performs additional duties as assigned

SALARY RANGE : The starting salary for this position is $15.50 per hour
