About The Position

Must-Have :
- RN's must pass a written exam during orientation.
- Candidates must receive a minimum passing score to remain employed.
- Driver's license required for submission.
- Artificial nails are prohibited for those providing patient care.
Description :
The department provides intensive care to a variety of patients with high acuity.
Nurses are expected to manage and care for vented patients.
BIS scoring and targeted temperature management (TTM) are utilized in patient care.
Inter-aortic balloon pump (IABP) use is rare on this unit.
RNs are required to titrate medications, including vasopressors, sedatives, heparin, octreotide, and insulin.
There is a charge nurse on each shift who does take an assignment.
Nurse aids or patient care techs are not available on this unit.
An intensivist and eICU support are present 24 / 7.
Scheduling is conducted every six weeks with shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Weekend obligations are every other weekend and holiday requirements rotate among staff.
Floating to other units may be required as needed.
Dress code requires navy blue scrubs.
Additional notes emphasize seeking positive team-oriented nurses.
Requests for time off need to be submitted at the start of the contract, with limited flexibility for additional requests.
This role includes a cancellation policy allowing for a limited number of shift cancellations.
Charting is conducted using the EPIC system.
A BSN degree is preferred.
Trauma level experience is beneficial.
The care setting is acute nursing.
