Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

Location : Albuquerque, NM 87109 (New Mexico nursing jobs)

Assignment Type : Travel RN Contract

Unit : Labor & Delivery (15 beds)

Shift : Night, 12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)

Weekly Hours : 36 or 48 hours (flexible options)

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026)

Weekend Requirement : 4-6 weekend shifts per 6 weeks

Scrubs : Provided

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1880 - $1930

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active New Mexico or Compact RN license (required at time of submission)

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience

Required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (AWHONN Advanced preferred)

Proficiency with electronic charting systems

Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed

Patient care experience with neonates and adults

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced hospital environment

Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries; circulate for C-sections

Perform antepartum and postpartum assessments, triage obstetrical patients, and conduct sterile vaginal exams

Utilize external fetal monitoring (EFM) and operate labor and delivery equipment

Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, and insulin drips

Maintain central lines (CVC / PICC) and follow isolation precautions / PPE protocols

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, pharmacy, radiology, and social services

Support a daily census of 100-200 facility births per month
