Patient Care Coordinator / Patient Advocate
Locations : Akron or Canton or Eaton or Brunswick or Dublin, or Miamisburg, OH

About the Role
We're seeking a compassionate, motivated Patient Care Coordinator to serve as the trusted point of contact for patients throughout their care journey. In this role, you'll blend empathy with efficiency - educating, guiding, and influencing patients toward successful completion of their treatment plans.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in healthcare coordination, patient advocacy, or inside sales who is passionate about helping others and confident discussing treatment options and financial considerations.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary liaison for patients and families, building trust and ensuring a positive care experience.
Educate and empower patients to follow through with their treatment plans as directed by the clinic's physician.
Identify and resolve care barriers - addressing questions, concerns, and objections with empathy and professionalism.
Coordinate appointments, follow-ups, procedures, and documentation , ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Discuss financial aspects of care , including insurance coverage, authorizations, cost estimates, and payment plans.
Maintain strong communication between patients, surgeons, and clinic staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction.
Proactively monitor patient progress and re-engage patients who may be hesitant or delayed in their care journey.
Support nearby clinics occasionally as needed to maintain seamless patient experience across locations.
What You Bring
Proven experience in patient engagement, sales, or care coordination (inside sales experience preferred).
Bachelor's degree in healthcare, social work, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience.
Knowledge of insurance, benefits, and financial discussions within a healthcare setting.
Confident communicator and skilled influencer who can motivate patients toward positive health outcomes.
Familiarity with medical terminology and comfort working with providers and clinical staff.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
Excellent time management and ability to work independently.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel to support nearby clinics when needed.
A Typical Day Includes
Meeting with patients after diagnostic imaging or consultations.
Walking patients through procedure details and next steps .
Discussing insurance and financial plans , answering questions about coverage and costs.
Coordinating pre-authorizations and scheduling procedures.
Acting as a trusted consultant and advocate , helping patients make confident, informed decisions.
